Pictures where in tx, what motor, what are your plans?
I'm sourcing an EK9 now with my tax return, like I just hung up with "$2,500 Garrett Turbo needs windshield"-guy (major bogey) but been driving my girlfriends 2011 Si Sedan here and their, such a fun car. I'm going to be driving it quite a lot as she gets deployed June-January, so I'll be able to tear into mine... :D

good luck sourcing the EK9. from what i've seen, the shipping from japan alone is a few grand. however, EK9s are dirt cheap there.

I'm not talking about a RHD CTR/SiR, buddy. EK is a chassis code for U.S.-models, too... You read a lot of Import Tuner, huh?

Incorrect. Please do not regurgitate information you have not confirmed. Anfrey knows what he's talking about btw.

1996-2000 Civic CX and DX hatchbacks in the US are EJ6s, not EK9s.

The EK9 is the 1997-2000 Civic Type-R hatch ONLY. It was ONLY available as a RHD car in Japan, though it was later shipped to some other countries and sold second-hand.

http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2581875

These are all the chassis codes for all 1996-2000 Civics (not including del Sols or Civic variants such as the 1.6EL, Domani, Gemini, Partner, Orthia, or Aerodecks). This is just coupes, hatches and sedans.
6G (1995-2000) Models:

EJ7 - 1.6L SOHC VTEC-E 2 door

EJ9 - 1.4L SOHC non-VTEC 3/4 door

EK2 - 1.3L SOHC non-VTEC? 3/3 door
EK3 - 1.5L SOHC VTEC 3/4 door
EK4 - 1.6L DOHC VTEC 3/4 door
EK5 - 1.6L SOHC ?? 4 door 4WD
EK6 - ??L SOHC ?? 3 door
EK7 - ??L SOHC ?? 3 door

no need for aggression, buddy, especially towards someone who wished you luck in your automobile procurement. i consider that quite rude, and you'll find that kind of behavior is generally looked down upon and not tolerated here. also, you misrepresented the vehicle you're attempting to acquire by using a specific chassis code for a different vehicle (in this case, the 97-00 civic type r). as NOFX pointed out, there are no USDM civics with EK chassis codes, so NO, EK is NOT a chassis code for USDM models, as you claim. please do not use vehicle specific chassis codes if you are not referring to that specific vehicle, as it only causes more confusion and misinformation. in light of this, i believe your comment towards me regarding car magazines may apply more to yourself than yours truly.

again, welcome to clubcivic and good luck on your automotive acquirement and further endeavors.
