anywho im wondering if RonJ or anyone else had a ground wiring diagram???

thanks in advance

oh and if im doing this, would you reconmend getting a cap for my stereo system?

You can make them up as you go. For example, I have my tranny grounded, distributor, and firewall.

true, how much did you spend total? well i've heard that grounding your parts from one ground spot is the best way of doing it

^^ lolz for the rick roll. Classic!

Anyway, it's not hard to make or install your own grounding wires. I just did my yesterday with parts I got from the hardware store:

  • 4-gauge (AWG) speaker wire
  • 4-gauge ring crimps
  • a new negative battery cable terminal (screw-locking style to make connections easier)
  • large wire crimper
  • large cable cutter
  • something to strip the cable with (I used a utility knife)
  • some sandpaper to remove surface paint/primer (improves connection)
The three wires that are typically upgraded in the SOHC setup are the 1) battery to chassis, 2) A/C to chassis, and 3) transmission to chassis. Here's my setup; you can see pretty clearly where the bright red upgraded wires are [your original question]:

^^ All wires are connected with 10mm bolts.

However, I'd like to add that I felt no noticeable increase in power. The only difference was that my amp sounded smoother at high volume (stock OEM radio and speakers). I hope this helps.

for those of us without A/C: the A/C to chassis connection is just an engine block to chassis connection lol

how much did you spend?
Made my own grounding kit with about 20' of 4 gauge monster cable, 12x gold plated O connectors. Think I paid like $30. Did it about 7 years ago.

You can easily do it for half what I paid though by going to your local parts store and getting whatever gauge wire you want from Borg Warner and the cable connectors. its dirt cheap.
