I put in a new head unit and speakers and stuff b/c when I got this car it had nothing, and I had to like redo wiring and stuff, but now Ithink I have grounding issues. I have a 90 CRX, does anyone know where it would be grounded to? if that makes sense? thanks.

There is a lot of good fat grounds under a Honda dash. Keep your ground wire short and make sure it's terminated solidly.

that would probably make your ground too long, well in most cases. I don't normally mount my amps in the front of the car. Nor do I want to go under the dash for a ground.

Go under the hatch and sand off the paint under the spare tire and use a grounding terminal there (if you might expand your system) Some people even use the bolt that holds the tire in, I have never trusted it though. Make your ground as short as possible.

Also make sure you are using the right gauge wire.

"To determine the approximate current draw (in amperes) of your amplifier (or amplifiers), you must calculate first the total power of each amp (multiply the number of channels by the number of RMS watts per channel). If you have multiple amps, add up the total power figures to arrive at a grand total. Next, double your grand total power figure. Then, divide by 13.8."

I'm trying to fid out where it is already grounded. I don't know anyhting. lol. first of all, what's the little bundle of wires that goes from the back of my head unit? is that called the snake? i know that's what it's called in other audio crap but I don't know about in cars. anyway. I don't know where that goes. I just know it goes up in the dash and I don't know where. I took everything apart and couldn't find it today just now. I don't want to ground it somehwere else. I just want to find out where the original ground wire comes out, because I think that it's not grounded right because nothing works, except randomly it will come on. so I think theres a short in it or something.

All I saw was head unit and "stuff"

so I assumed she meant just the head unit. You are correct if she was referrring to an amp. Otherwise, she can find a nice chassis ground near the h/u under the dash

ok so this is soooo weird. I got in my car tonight and the instrument panel was dark so I looked at the fuse and it was blown. anyway, when I put in a new fuse, which was a 15, but it calls for a 10, the f**king radio and s**t starts to work and f**king goes on and off when I turn the instrument oanel on and off. how crazy is that? does this happen to other people, or has my car been rigged?

sounds like to me you got the power hooked up to the illumination wire.
Illumination rests at ground when the lights are off and is a constant 12v when they are on.
