your not going to get 13's without building your motor, and if you do, it wont last long at all

ball bearing will spool faster...

T3 hits 75% eff @ 13lbs/min.. which is 7.35 psi
Gt28r hits 75% eff @ 16lbs/min... which is 4.41 psi

PR = ([Boost+14.7]/14.7)

*shrug* super 60 is cheaper too... but ball bearing will spool faster.

Looking at the maps, the GT28r has a MUCH smaller 75% efficiency zone, and both turbos top out at 35 lbs/min of corrected air flow and start spooling at 5 lbs/min CAF.

*edit*
SO in conclusion, speed will cost you money. lol. the GT28R will hit full boost faster, although its RPM rate will have diminishing returns much faster than the super 60.

yeah. it has been done on stock motors. just high 13s or very low 14s . btw i have seen myself but some of them got hella skills in tune. it is possible but again i not boosting much daily and when i do go to the track its not often and i dont drive my car hard alot either. i have met some ppl who have a turbo setup up on a stock motor for over 2 years and still have no problems and well over 100xxxmiles on them be4 the turbo install. but i may not have the same luck. lol but its only gonna be stock for awhile cuz i just found and gonna buy another y8 motor and build that on the side while i boost the other one and sawp motors when she is finished and boom. all the sohc haters and unbelievers are gonna get hit. and yes Jezek Is Back, i am just gonna build this motor after all seeing how thing always breaks http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=58644 and atleast dseries parts are cheaper so and plus is my daily so i dont need to dump too much but it will all add up in the end lol

mmmhmmm.. something like 250 hp 230 tq. I'm jealous to say the least.

Another good, inexpensive turbo to consider for uptop powa would be the T3/T04E with a 46 or 50 trim.

i was going to get the t3/t4 50 trim .48 but after doing some research on the gt28r is looks like a semi-winner. Its just with the t3/t4 its has some lag and the gt28r might not have top end to keep me content at the track. but who knows?which i ask you all. cuz i really dont wanna buy a turbo and wish i bought the other one ya know.

the GT28R will be flowing fine in the d16y8 til redline. If you plan on Auto-X, than definitely do not go with a T3/T4. Stick to the ball bearing snails or T25/possibly small trim T3 or from the DSM line, TD05-14G or
TD05-16G with the small wheel.

Another issue with Hondas + turbo is traction. With quick spool, you will definitely need to look into either LSD or a traction bar along with a good set of rubber.

In contrast to the fast spooling turbos, the lag from the larger turbo's already puts the car in motion, which can aid in traction. However, there still is a good possibility of slip, or even worse, torque steer.

very true cuz the larger turbos hit very hard. i really just want something equally balanced in the middle ya know. good spool but not die in top end and vise versa. its cool to have a large turbo cuz if u drive soft enough it wont spool too much but when i am at the track have to have those rpms up between shifts which i can do but hear with some of the larger ones it lags some after a shift. but thats just what i hear. not justified with experience.i will build the motor and etc. so lsd will be inorder in the long run along with slicks. just that when i am stock i want to get as close as i can to the 13s as possible but still be safe ya know.

anyone heard about them? i here, here and there they have bad shipping but no complant about the turbo. i want to run the t3/t4 50trim .48 but afraid its not streetable and too big for my y8. forcing me to a smaller one which isnt bad. i dont autoX so .....?And i want a decint topend too. spool is good but not too much cuz my 0-60 will be rough if i have traction problems but with a bigger turbo i wont spinn asmuch and have topend. but again. if i can get a turbo that has decent enough turbo that spools good and has decint topend to get these goals i might set the t3/t4 to the side.

dont go through turbo calculator; Ive heard way too many complaints. Look for a rebuilt ebay turbo.

Anyways, this should help you out....

I'm assuming you're going to need 8-10psi roughly to get into the 13's with those turbos on the d16y7. This can be done on stock internals, although I highly recommend block posting + y8 headgakset + blockguard.

I placed your VE (Volumetric Efficiency) at 85%.. if you have 210 compression across the board, I'd raise it to 90-95%. Anyways, I digress.

This should help. This is the last one of these I'm doin by hand haha

IMHO the t3's look better for your goals.

*edit* sorry for fubarin up the width of the thread...
