guage cluster question

I was just wondering if 03-05 civic lx/ex guage clusters would work on an 05 civic vp(plug and play)???

i dont know but i think it might just plug and play.

well im going to assume so for the fact that the two sub generations of 6th gen 96-98(zenki) and 99-00(kouki) guage clusters are interchangeable. so i think that the two sub generations of 7th gens 01-03(zenki) and 04-05(kouki) would probably be too unless they changed the dash style between those years.

i have a newer 03-05 cluster that i replaced the old crap looking 02 one. it is not plug and play, but all you have to do is re-pin the connectors (wires go in different places). then you can plug it in. it took about 1/2 hour to do.

well ive been reading around and from what ive read older clusters going into newer cars is plug and play but thats just what ive read

hey gearbox do you have a wiring diagram for that? ive bought 2 clusters off of ebay and neither will work. i thought the first one was broken so i bought another and it didnt work so i thought that it just wouldnt work in my car. if you dont have it then i guess ill just have to go with an 01 or 02

yes i have them both the old one and the new one. its very easy putting an 03+ into an 01-02 car. just swapping wires. Send me a pm to remind me. I'll look for the files when i get home later.

thanks for the diagrams gearbox those will come in real handy. ill print them out this afternoon. did you install the cluster that looks like this?

yup i got that one with red rings. you could also get the sedan version which has blue rings instead.

yea i saw a couple of those on ebay, i believe i like the red ones better.

ya the red looks alot cleaner and the numbers are in italics instead of regular. looks sportier
