guage cluster ?

i just bought an 02LX guage cluster on ebay in perfect condition reading 36k miles for my 05 VP, my car has almost 17k i was wondering if any of you knew how i could set the odometer back??

that is illegal, and very difficult to do without breaking the odometer. just leave it how it is and write down the miles you had when you swapped, and what your new one had on it and subtract to find how many miles you have

i would think d only be illegal to turn back the miles past your current milage. there should be no trouble turning it back to the original milage, however i don;t know how.

its illegal to f**k with the odometer period. or at least thats what i've been told

its illegal if you're doing it to claim that your car has less miles than it really has. i found an article about it once that its ok if neccessary. eg. guage cluster gets stolen, you replace it w/ a used one and turn back to odo. google it, i'm pretty sure there are more loopholes..

correct me if i'm wrong, but dont 7th gen civic's have a digital odo? therefore, you cant "roll it back". to my knowledge, no one has figured out a way to change the odo reading on the digital odo's... mainly because of the large possibility for illegal-ness involved in doing so.

it becomes illegal when you dont check the box on your pink slip that says something like "odometer reads correct miles"

i believe theres a way to set the digital odometer back i read about it somewhere but i think ill probably wait till my car gets to 36k miles then put it in

if the spedometer is the exact same in both, you can take out the entire speedo and odometer and swap them. That way you keep your exact miles. It's what i did for my car. That way it maintains the original milage.
