Like the title says i need help bad. You see my engine and engine bay were dirty so i decided to clean them. So i got some simple green and the old water hose and clean it real good. But the bad news is that i didnt cover anything. So now its running like crap. It is hesitant, the rpms are acting up and its not running the same. It doesnt take off when i punch it when im already going fast like it used to.The check engine light came on, so i disconected it and it stayed off. But coming back from a friends house it came back on. Could it be something electrical? The fuel injectors or the fuel injection itself. What could be the worst? Will it go away and should i not worry about it like my pops says. Any help of advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance, ed.:???:

I dont think you need to cover anything, I just open the hood and spray. Mine works fine, but mabe you knocked somthing loose. Or if you have a wire thats cut a little bit, then you got it wet things can happen. I say open the hood, check all the wires and stuff, move the wires around a lil bit, check to make sure everything is snug and on right. Thats all i can think of right now.

if anything u should cover it should be the air intake, and if it did cause problem they would be alot worse than what ur describing. but that wouldnt cause the check engine light to come on i dont think. so with the check engine light coming on go have the codes pulled.

I cover the battery. and i put some plastic over some of the wire connections... maybe it's unrelated to the washing. I hope it works out.

get the code read from the CEL that way you can get better knowledge on where the problem is.

As much as we would like to help you, our guess is as good as yours until the code is pulled.

Its throwing out a code 67 which is a malfunctioning catalyst system working below nowrmal threshhold. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? Also how could cleaning the engine make the catalyst system malfunction? The only thing that i could think of is that the evap purge valve got wet and messed up. Any ideas or suggestions would eb much appreciated, thanks in advance.
