Trying to get folks to admit they own ricey parts eh?
OK I admit it. I have a set of projectors/halos for my 98 EX.
They are "Generation 3" brand, bought 'em from NOPI.
In terms of beam performance they are not as good as stock. It's not really brightness per se but rather the beam pattern(s) that aren't so good.
The (projector) low beam pattern is much more tightly focused than OEMs. It's plenty bright where the beams are focused but unfortunately that area is too close to the nose of the car. The lowbeams aren't adjustable on my projectors either so you wind up not seeing as far ahead of your car as you would with the stockers.
High beams (non-projectors) are aimable and better in terms of beam pattern but the narrow placement of the highbeams really cuts off any illumination of the sides of the road. It's really a lot like a single motorcycle headlight beam pattern.
The wiring on these Gen3s does not allow for running hi+lo together. I will be rewiring them this summer to make for better visibility.
Bottom line? I swap out my projectors for OEMs in the winter because I think they aren't as safe as the stock parts.
