I finally have become a stolen head unit victim. Came back from the mall to see my head unit gone and my hood popped. Those bastards did a clean job in stealing it. No scrathes to the vehicel at all. RCA cords and the dash was left in tack. So much for my high priced Viper alarm. I'm convinced now that alarms are useless. The bastards are in for a surprise. hours before they took it, the head unit died. They basically stole a useless head unit.

that sucks. if its not too much to fix, pay out of your pocket. insurance will raise your premium if you make a claim.
happened to me a few years ago, popped window, stole the deck but not the headunit. guess those idiots couldn't get off 4 screws. (headunit was broken too, but the broken window pissed me off.)

it's the easiest thing in the world, all you need is a screw driver to pop the latch. I tested it myself on my gf's hatch. So I Installed some extras when I did her alarm.
-First off the alarm itself is hidden and has color changed stock wires, so good luck finding it before I come outside
-Second I installed a back up mini siren. A lot of dipwads cut the wires from under the car or pop the hood and presto, no more siren. So to prevent that, the back up siren goes off no matter what, the wires can be cut and it will still go off.
-Third, I made a relay and attached the siren to the stock car horn, so that goes off aswell. The signal comming off the alarm is +, which is fine for the siren, but the cars horn signal output is -, so you need to put a relay to it so that they can work together.
-Fourth, I installed a hood pin, pop the hatch and see what happends lol
-Fifth for shits and giggles, I put a lil siren by the kick panel, it's lound and annoying as hell

I had some cop sirens but i ended up gettin into trouble, now im stuck with 2 sets of air horns and the alarm siren, line locks and about 4 different kills
YET i still have dreams of my car gettin stolen..
BTW thats why i dont bring my car to malls around NJ, its sad but when you start meeting people into honda you will find people that are into that s**t and even some that tell you how they do it.. after i was told most of the security ( the ones that drive them lil hyundais ) are in one it i havnt brang my car to any mall
