Hatch wont Start

As most of you know, i just finished my engine swap. Yes, stock engine. I had her all set to start up in the garage, but realised one of my friends had over tightened a bolt on the Fuel Filter, and snapped it off. I pull another FF off the parts civic, and bolted it on. Now, it wont start...when i roll the ignition forward, i get a series of clicks. When i roll it into the Start position, the engine turns over but either doesnt fire, or is starving for fuel. Any Ideas on what the hell is wrong? Thnks

i would put a little gas in a squirt bottle and spray it directly into the intake, if it fires and dies it is a fuel delivery problem.

I'mgonna sound dumb, but could you explain that? like exactly where to spray....god i feel like a n00b sometimes.

You know where the throttle body is right? Disconnect the plastic tube(or aluminum if you've got aftermarket) and take a spray bottle filled with gas and squirt the fuel in while you or someone else cranks the engine. If it doesn't start, check your spark. If it does start start checking your fuel system for problems. I can provide you with specifics, but first do what sims159 suggested. Have you checked for spark and for fuel? Pull a plug wire out and see if that b***h is sparking. To see if it's a fuel problem, crack open the fuel line to the fuel rail, then turn the ignition switch on and see if fuel comes out.

I pulled a line going out of the filer ---> engine and feul comes out that end. Im gonna check for hoze kinks, and spark.

Clogged injectors? ECU problem? Other possibilities.
