I have a power tester (it has a light when there is a signal power and you connect it to the chassis) . when i turned the stereo on my rear speakers wire was lose and was touching the chassis and my deck went into protect mode then the deck turned off now every time i try and turn it on the deck wont turn on. And when i touch the ground the light flashes and same with the -'s of the speaker wires and the constant and and ign wire and i have the wires not touching the chassis anymore. Did i short my deck?

Good possibility you did if thats happening. Have you looked in your head unit manual about what exactly the "protect" mode is?

Protect mode is when the speaker terminals are touching chassis or speaker wire. and i have all the speakers unplugged and there is no power to my deck. So i'm pretty sure i shorted my deck... its pretty new but i dont think shorting the deck is under warranty lol

It's unclear to me what you are saying here^.

Aftermarket stereo, right? If so, which one?

And again, enter your car information into the Garage feature. It's difficult to give any specific help if we have no idea what car (or stereo unit) you have.

To work, the stereo needs voltage on both the Wht/Blu and Yel/Red wires. The latter should only be hot with the key in ON(II). Have you checked this?

Have you checked whether the Blk ground wire has continuity to body ground?

Does the unit have an internal fuse? Did you reset the unit?

Again, clarify what this means:

And when i touch the ground the light flashes and same with the -'s of the speaker wires and the constant and and ign wire and i have the wires not touching the chassis anymore.

Yea i have tried. The Hu seems like it has no power at all. but the constant and ign leads are completely fine all the way to the Hu. should i just run a ground straight from the negative terminal i already have the constant power just for my deck.

Yes, run a new black ground wire from the unit to the metal frame under the dash to see whether it now works.

Did you check the fuse plugged into the rear of the unit?
