HEADER question

Why is it seemingly impossible to find headers for a 99 dx hatch? Every decent header I find is only for the EX models or the 99-00 si. Will the EX header work on the dx?

yes it will work, but it'll delete your cat.

hes right. the d16y7have the cat integrated into the exhaust manifold, while the d16y8 cats are located downstream. putting a d series manifold on your car is possible, but youll have to get a d16y8 cat setup, whether it be oem or aftermarket, welded or bolted in.

i just took my cat off and put a strat pipe in its place

you can do that too. i used to run a straight pipe but i couldnt stand it after awhile. so glad i have a cat in now

Yeah I knew putting a header on would delete the cat, but I thought the EX and si models might have had something different other than the vtec that would make the header not work on my motor. I'll probably get the header the same time I get my WS II exhaust...whenever that is
