headlight switcheroo

Honda Civic / 1993 / DX 2dr auto.

My Headlights switch back and forth when I pull the normal / High Beam lever on the steering column. (doubles as turn signal, turn signals not effected.)

Specifically, when headlights are in the 'on' position, one is on, the other is off. I can toggle between driver side and passenger when I switch the high beams on and off.

Both lights will stay lit if I hold the lever in the high beam position.

I have changed the bulbs, No effect.
I have changed the combo switch. No Effect.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

LOL

sounds like one of your headlight bulb wire harnesses had a switcharoo when someone replaced it.

There are 3 wires that go into the headlight harness, low beam, high beam, and ground. you need to take apart the harness and switch the high beam and low beam wires. do this to the headlight that is OFF when your switch says ON and highbeam is OFF

no. its not switched. this is what happens when you have a fuse blown. check your under dash fuse panel, there should be one that is for headlights and one for high beams. one of those is out. replace it and you should be back to normal. If no fuses are blown then i would investigate further, I have had the exact same thing you are describing, and it was a blown fuse.
