I dont think this will gain hp 1995honda04, this would be strictly for compression......

why do you think it would raise compression? a thinner hg might raise compression slightly, but i'm not sure about the head. any gains if at all would be un-noticeable and not worth the money/time

I was told that if I put a d16y8 head on my d16z6 block that it will raise compression by 1.0 to 1.3 higher. I was wondering if anyone knows if this is true, or has done this...

it is BS i do bleive. the d16y8 has only 2hp over the z6 and that's not all due to the head.

i heard its only .5 raise in compression but its more efficient. the quench areas are totally different on each head doesnt matter if its obd1 or2

ya the combustion camber can really effect the compression i dunno what it would be though

the y8 has a smaller combustion c hamber, thanks to integrated quench zones. the y8, along with the later h22a's, are the only honda heads with quench zones. it will raise compression, and it will gain some hp. the y8 and z6 are similar, but the y8 has a much better flowing intake manifold, while the z6 has superior flowing head ports. a P&P job on that head while its out will help out hp.

so in your opinion is it worth it to swap the y8 head onto the z6?

no, the gain in hp is minimal, and the hassle of messing with the obd2-obd1 garbage far exceeds the gains. a p&p job on either head/manifold will result in a much better head than swapping one for the other.
