ok heres the question for all you smarties out there. my goal for next winter is leather seats with heat. just wondering where would be a good place to get the seats( i was thinking of recovering the rsx seats with leather then throwing a heat pad in there. but sence i know nothing i thought i would ask first. any input or would this be a stupid idea. i would also have them turn on when my remote start goes on so they would be nice and tosty.

just fart in your seat when you get in and call it a day.......Honestly though, Im really not sure what would work but a heating pad is a weak idea....unsafe at best.

if anything, the heater for the seat has to generate a small amount of heat at best.

maybe what you could do is get some seats that came stock with it and then rip it out and then put them into your seats and wire them up

Go over to clubrsx.com...they have the part to turn your seats into heated seats over there in the parts area for like 76 bucks for the rsx. Wonder if they would work on a civic?

Why go through all of the effort of moddifying seats and maybe melting them when Honda makes factory leather heated seats? My roommate just bought the interior from an Acura EL (only here in Canada ;) ) off eBay for $800us w/ shipping for his EG sedan. That was for front and rear seats, door panels, center console, and I think seatbelts. Everything is in great condition too. They're pretty friggen awesome. He's going for a stock-ish look so these fit the bill perfectly. By the way, they're in his Civic EX-V. Something else that was only available in Canada, and only in '92. It's the EX body with all of the options, except it comes with the SI motor, lower ride height, front and rear sway bars, and some other stuff I forget. Sorry for the long rant... Just an option with the EL seats, if you can find 'em. Very hard to find with leather AND heat...

I'd be concerned about the amperage draw.

Go to a sporting goods store to the hunting section and buy some heated long johns

Raid a scrappy. Find a Ford Mondeo ( Think thats a Taurus to you lot ).
They have pretty general heated seat pads which I've seen put in a few different motors.
If you're doing that though , best have confidence in your wiring else you'll end up charred.

Pretty sure a Mondeo here is a Contour. The Contour even has a BCI Group 48 battery which is generally only for German cars.

But yeah, what he said about the wiring! :thumbs up
