1st prob is my belt id doesnt squeel when started or idle. like sometimes when i first drive the car and the heater is on ,when i come to a stop down shift it starts to squeel. If i turn the heater off it goes away. The lights dont dim and the battery is good. its got 99k miles on it. should i just get a new belt and whats the easy way of changing it? It lookes a little tight n where the belt is.

2nd prob idont know if its a short but when i turn my heater on and press the defrost botton the a/c button light comes on? it does the same thing some times if i push the other buttons/ feet/vent/ect. i dont know if its suppose to do that or not.

The squeaking may be coming from the alternator or A/C belt -- pinpoint which one. It could also be a bad alternator or A/C clutch bearing.

It's normal for the A/C to turn on for the defrost function.
