Hello...from Portugal!

Hello,

Im Marco from Portugal, i have 20 years old and i just starting love Honda's .

At the moment i dont have any Honda, i have a VW Polo GT(86c), but in the next year (in november 2004) i will go purchase another car and this one goes to my brother.
I think my new car is a Honda Civic VTI EK4(the same SI) or a Citroen Saxo VTR...In your opinion wich is the best?
The Honda civic VTI (SI) have good performance?!What do you think about this car?

Portugal is fine, today i have a sunny day 8)

I think i will decide for Honda Civic VTI EK4, in Portugal the Civic SI is called Civic VTI, B16A2 motor.
I see very pictures of this car and some projects in this site and i love the car...

With Integra Type r cameshafts , Apexi VAFC and CAI, wich gains i will take?

i think Saxo VTR has just 90 hp, and it sucks VTS has bit more (118 right???)!!

the Saxo will not be as fast as the Civic

To be honest, there is no choice to be made. The VTi is a great car. Its fast standard with load of tuning potential, its well built and very reliable. Plus theres not 'that' many around.

Were as the Saxo, if it anything like over here, are like bums. Everyones got one, there not as fast and thier French, which means funny build quality. Stick to your instincts.

I took both a VTR and VTi out for drives. And...well, i brought the Civic so that says it all.

By the way, the VTi is 160bhp
Citreon VTS is 120bhp

Quite similar, but does the saxo have that VTEC kick?

DON'T BUY A SAXO!!!!
It's the most tunned car around! All pimps have a tuned saxo, some are cool, but most of them are crappie tunned...
And they don't have half the quality you'll find in an Honda...
As a mechanic I know says: "If you wan't a top quality gasoline motor car buy a japonese. If you wan't a top quality diesel motor car buy a german." They're the top quality and most resistant in each categorie...
By the way do you what's the 1.5i LS "EK3" name for the american car? My car's from 15 December 1995, it's one of the frist 6th gen to arrive here I believe...And I bought it for 5000€ two months ago, from a well known person, in perfect conditions and only with 43.000 Km. It was a pretty good deal don't you think?

They didn't sell the EK3 in the U.S. AFAIK, they only have the CX and DX Hatches.

i dont know as far as perfomance goes, but i just did a search on the saxo and it looks frickin sweet. ive been a loyal honda driver since '98, but i would have to go with the Saxo. who gives a s**t if its not fast, half the fun of having a car is building it yourself to MAKE it go fast. my car came stock with like 108 hp. $7000 and 3 motorswaps later...i can keep up brand new cars valued at twice what mine is...with that said, i'd go with the saxo.

I would go with the Saxo VTS. And about the hp, the VTi Civic is 125whp and the Saxo VTS is 125whp (with an KN Filter) We tried it on a dyno, number of times with a number of Civic´s and two VTS´s
