Hi Guys first Iwant to say great site! I have been living here finding great info and allready fixed a few issues with your help, but this one i think i need to ask direct.

I have just got a 95 Civic EX V-TECH 1.6 w/ 256,000 miles on this puppy, it runs great, but I noticed im having the tranny slippage problem allot of guys are having. I did my first flush..and adjusted the cable, and I did notice a bit of difference, but not much. I plan on doing the 2&3rd tomorrow.
I also have noticed that when I got the car the speedo did the 320 spin and stopped under 0.
I fixed that by doing the wire in the tripset button..pushed the needle back to 100mph point, the turned the cars ign to III.. and it turned it self back to the "right" side of 0.
I notice that it works every 1 out of 10 times, and does act "jumpy" when it does.
I'm not sure if these are all related? I Do have power going to the VSS.. but still have not tested it fully.

OK with that said I jammed my front passanger side tire on a sewer cover and blew the side wall.
Now I went to get a tire and realized..the jack ass who sold me the car has TWO DIFFERENT TIRE SIZES ON THE CAR!!!
He had 185/70R14s on the front..
185/65R14 on the rears...the cars specs in the glove box calls for 185/60R14 on it
I had to get a used tire, an OK one, but the 4 on there were brand new, so I oppted to put the 2 best ones ( a matching set) on the front.. needless to say i had to do a full rotaiton..I now have 185/70R14 on the rears and the 185/65R14 on the front..can this be an issue? I read about the difference in speed and alsopossibly brakeing issues???

Would this make a difference with the tranny slippage? The tire size difference?
And Is it me or do I feel abit of a difference now in the susppension/the ride as well now after I switched the 185/70R14's to the rear and put the 65R14's in the front?

Is there safty issues?
I cant belive this car was inspected and passed with all these issues.
Any help would be great thanks guys!

The tires will not effect the transmission slipping issue, But as far as the tires go as long as front L and front R are the same size and that the read L and R are the same you will not have any problem. But do note that you will need to rotate the as pairs or just swap L for R in position.

for your slipping problem is your car an automatic or a 5 speed?

Thanks

Sorry its an automatic. The speedo issue is most likley a short. I tap the top it works.
as for the tires i do have the sets matched, but i do notice a better ride w the 70R in the front and the 65Rs in the rear.

I did a full drain of the atf pan..4 quarts i took out and it was BLACK i added back the atf..( i used the castrol import atf for hondas) and it seems better im going to drive it for a bit and do it 2 times more.
Thanks
Gerard
