I have recently had what appears to be an igition problem w/ my 98 civic ex. The car has Edlebrock turbo kit, along with map sensor fix, full 2.5 in turbo back exhaust, walbro 255 fuel pump.I have the SCI box, SS Blaster coil with the power tower dist. cap. My symptons are that it idols horribly with what appears to be skipping. When going to move the car it will run extremly rough as it will spitter and sputter and want to stall out. If i step on the gas hard or get near boost this will occur. The igniton timing on the car as never been changed either. When i boost the car will act like its running really lean, but ive had no other problems with it. The problem occured quite suddenly and with no apparent cause. Could this be a problem with the box. Also i just replaced the cap and wires, all with MSD. The cap had signs of damage where the inside terminials were slightly melted and chared along with the rotor? The day before these problems happened i had the car dynoed, and they used a wire on the Tach signal port on the box, could this cause the box to short out? Does this sound like it is in the igition system or something else. All MSD parts were bought new and installed by me as per the installation panphlets. Does anyone have any suggestions or may have had this same problem?
