I've searched several forums and couldn't find anything for 99-00 amber stuff. Read through the 96-98 DIY one archived on Honda-Tech but I was hoping for some help for 99-00.

I wanna change my cluster lighting to amber and my climate control. Anyone got some info? Also wanna know what bulbs to get and how many. And do the bulbs already come in amber? I see many people talking about spraying regular bulbs but do you have to? I don't want a red-ish look either. Amber is what I was aiming for.

Any and all info appreciated :thumbs up.

if you just replace your bulbs with amber ones your lighting will be shitty, you'll have cold spots. if you want it to look nice, your going to have to wire in extra bulbs, to avoid this you could buy an integra, civic SI, EK4, or EK9 cluster.

just lookin out...

first, you are going to pull out the climate control. You can use the 96-98 tutorial for that part. Then you just find the bulbs (think about what is illuminated and find the backside of it). Pull the bulbs out and replace with amber ones. You can get the amber si bulbs for the CC knobs I believe, but as far as the 3 buttons, the si bulbs are larger in size and will not fit. You can either change to the 3 button piece from the si as I did or just paint / replace the bulbs (red).

As far as the cluster, long grain is correct. Theres no easy way to illuminate it without wiring in extra bulbs.

I'm guessing that's why everyone just recommended getting a different cluster with amber already in em :???:. Everywhere I read, the majority of people said "or just get an si cluster or something".

Thanks Long. But if there is a way to wire em up then I'd be more than happy to read it and possibly try it. Just trying to find that info.

edit - Thanks sk8. And honestly, I prefer not to have an amber CC and white cluster lol.

I mean, you can pull the cluster and replace the bulbs if you want. At the same time at the top of the cluster there are two "slots" with a blue tint. Find some type of chemical to remove the tint and itll be amber. This is what I did, and the lighting is fair. I wish it was brighter though. I almost wanted to swap in the LS cluster (following danny's how to) as I love how it illuminates. IF only it fit better.

Yeah I know what you mean...

I actually found oc_civic's LED thread in his sig and am about to read through it. Cuz his cluster is blue and it seems he has more than enough lighting in it.

Someone hooked me up with that on H-T. Looks like he did it and it turned out awesome. The only reason why I'm thinking about not doing this is because the painted bulbs fade after a while and it'd just be annoying to have to deal with repainting.

But someone did mention just buying the EM1 SI bulbs and swapping the orange condom or w/e onto the bulb so it fits.
