If John is going to "tune" it then its not a basemap. He will probably run uberdata.

Besides the obvious that was posted your still going to need the "little shits" that start to add up in cost when you forget about them....such as oil feed and return lines, oil T, couplers, clamps, i would reccomend getting a boost gauge and at least a oil pressure gauge. Also need to decide if your going internally gated turbo or externally gated...and if you need a boost controller or just running off the wastegate.

measure twice, cut once. do lots of research (which it seems youve done) and do it right once.

The log manifold will help your spool time. I would look for 190-240whp though, 250whp is really pushing it for a DD. I would recomend a 50trim t3/t4 if you want a semi good spool on a budget and still room to play with. If you want an all out motor later on the go ahead and get a 57trim. If you never want to build, something like a .42/.48 t3 will be great.

All that is on a budget though. If you want "the best" get a gt28r for a stock motor, gt28rs if you want to semi build the motor, and either a gt2871r or a gt30r if you want huge power (for a single cam).

wheres a good place to pick up these items.. i = hate ebay.
Buy used stuff...save the money.

I have a FMIC cheap if you want it. I see John all the time at school and you live near him...so shipping is nothing.

200-250? use a t-bird super60. you can get them for under $200, will spool very quick, and easily support your goal

no sense spending upwards of $1000 for a turbo when something 1/5 the cost will achieve the same thing
