just purchased my first car-96 civic, the car itself runs great and all electronics all were working. my perticular problem is the aftermarket gauge cluster, it has a line of red leds at the top that glow down onto speedometer. These lights were working until last night when i stalled out the car, ive checked all possible fuses with no sucess. i have also check all loose wiring to find grounding/ shorting but still no sucess. i and wondering if anybody has any ideas or thoughts. im also wondering what kind of job replacing the quages is so i can poke around. thankx

taking out the gauge is the easiest thing ever. just 2 screws on the top of the bezel, and 4 screws around the gauge, then pull it out slightly and take off all the clips, should be 5 i think. 2 blue, 2 green, one yellow. anyways then find those lights you mentioned and put 12v right onto the wires if you can find them. if they light up then you know the problem lies somewhere else. if they dont you know that you burned them out. that guage sounds sweet though, can you post picutres?

well, i'm guessing the transformer that light up the gauge is fried..u can take the cluster off and check the gauge itself....pry the Hazard button with it cover off, there is one screw in there you need to take out..take out the 2 screws that you can see from the dash where your cluster is...from there on u can figure it out..pretty simple..

good luck..oh yeah, if u are paranoid i me about electrical thing, you should remove the Ground battery terminal before u start unplugging stuff..less chance of messing thing up if there's no power to it..
