3" down pipe with 3" straight pipe thermal exhaust (NO CAT no resonator )

Or 3" down pipe with 2.5 stock exhaust (with resonator RSR EXHAUST)

b18c BOOST 10 PSI semi built bottom end piston/rod which is better? option 1 or 2?

I vote 3" all the way back. Eventually you will get up to hp numbers where the exhaust will be holding you back. Might as well only do it once.

x2

3" all the way back is better, especially if you're thinking about or going to up the boost... but I would keep the resonator and cat... that's just me.

3 inch all the way. its not so bad without a cat or res if your boosted since the turbo will quiet down the exhaust

Street - Go with cat.

Track - 3'' all the way.

No cat on the streets of Cali = getting your car taken away and bad for the environment. :(

Pssshhh... drop the cat. We're gonna get hit by a big meteor or a nuclear bomb before we can kill the ozone layer. Screw backpressure give that turbo room to run.

Not to thread jack but I had the same kind of question. I'll be running a low boost setup and was trying to figure out what size exhaust. I'm leaning towards 2.5" without cat.

Since you have legal issues with your car, being in cali, it would be smart to do it the way that will keep your car out of trouble.

However, I was running 8lbs with a 2.25" system and made 221hp. When I got a 3" test pipe and 3" thermal exhaust I make over 250hp with the 2.25" dp still on. Just some info about how the performance will be with the smaller system.
