ok i am piecing this together from a couple sites.

Should that power source come from the battery or a positioned 6v battery?

On the stereo there should be a illumination wire behind it also if you have an after market wiring harness there should be illumination writen on the side of one of the wires too.

Go ahead and take the dash apart. I would test the gauges out on the battery before installing, to make sure its all working. Take to pieces of wire, hook up to the wiring harness, negitive and positive, then the same to the battery. Go back to the car, remove the cluster and clear plastic. If your gauges have some screws, take them off. You do not need to remove the stock gauge or needles. You would just put it right over the old ones. Be very careful when you are putting them over the needle not to snap it, you can bend the gauges alittle. Once you have done all that put the screws & clear plastic back. Now connect the harness that comes with the gauges. This is what I did. I removed my steering column plastic, used a light tester on the light switch wire with the car on ( acc ) turned the switch on & off to see which wire would shut off the tester when the car is off, and that would be my positive wire, then just find a metal around there connected to the chassie for your negitive and when you have it all hooked up and turn the switch on & off, your gauges should turn on as well.

alright its telling me that i should splice into my headlight switch. which is fine, but would i fully cut it? and connect it straight with the module? or just splice into it. the wire i am talking about is the light wire that runs to my gauges...

you could either buy those quick splice things and get it done that way, or strip the insulation off a section of the light wire and the end of the other wire youre splicing to it and solder it on to the power wire, that way u get the best connection possible.

A LINK TO HOW TO (different civic year but i am sure it can help)

ANOTHER INSTALL HOW to but it is 6th GEN

hope all that s**t helps you bro if not just im me and i can help you walk through it.

If you want to see how they look before you even put them in, just put a drill battery on the power and ground wires out of the control box.
