They clip in, but there is also a shitload of adhesive. Get your self a can of SAR or 3M and a nice, fat, flathead screwdriver. Have fun

Well, here's the back of the side molding from the passenger front fender for reference, the only part of my wrecked '97 coupe that I have left. You can where the clips broke off of this one on both sides though.

ok when u take the clips and s**t out are there holes left in the door panel??

The piece on the left of that photo has the rest of the male end of the clip (from the car) left in the female end of the molding clip. Not sure exactly what it looks like on the car's end though. I wasn't really paying attention to the small things on my wreck, sorry.
