help removing interior trunk paneling

Hello, I'm trying to remove the interior panel from my 98 civic dx hatchback. I've got a problem with the (manual) door lock and I'm convinced I could get it open if I could get at it. The panel is somewhat loose, but I'm not sure exactly where I might pry it off...it's especially tricky as it's stuck closed and it's a little hard to get in there.

Thanks in advance!

from what i can tell there are two clips on the left and right near the bottom, but I can't get to them without the hatch being open. and i don't think i can open the hatch without getting off the panel. not sure if that clarifies anything.

On my 99 civic, you need to get the back seats out of the way. First I folded the seats down, but then I need ot get the cushion parts behind the seat belts down too. This was done by lifting and pulling. It's a hook. However, it's a 99 sedan, not a 98 hatchback. But, look into it.
