Hello
First I want to thank all the members for their feedback on my project. Now, here's the problem. I changed the valve cover on my 94 Dx Sedan, and I snapped the valve cover bolt nearest the oil cap. There is absolutely no thread to tighten the screw; therfore, one side of the valve cover is open a tad when I tighten the other nuts. This causes a little olil to leak out from under the cover. Can anyone tell me how to repair this, or any info. on how to take care fo the problem. I'm going to clamp that end of the cover, so I can drive it until it gets repaired. Your thoughts:

I see, that really sucks. matts2ksi broke the bolt that holds the spring down by the CAT and spent $8 to get a new one from Honda. Then I find out that they are very common and you can get them at Autozone for like $3-4.

its a unique part, no auto parts store that i called even had it on file. stealer was the only option. i feel good tho, i had someone on hs tell me that he spend 15 bucks and shipping for one from some honda parts online store.

Should a clamp do the job for now

Should a clamp do the job for now. I'm going to a hardware store to get a clamp, so i can clamp down that end of the valve cover. What do you think about this? Thanks a lot.

Yes, the stud screws into the block, and I don't have the tools to take the broken stud out.

Hey, It turns out I was able to get the the bolt and nut out. All I need was a deep 12 mm socket and, presto, the thing came out. Now, I will either have to take it to a honda dealership or check Carquest like you recommended. I've never even seen a thingy like this. It looks like the nut is welded onto the tscrew, which had threads on both side and smooth in the middle; an all in one piece two piece jiggamazig. Thanks.

Thanks

I want to thank all of you. I bought the screw from a honda dealer (3 bucks), installed it, now the leak is pretty much repaired. I just have to get some valve cover sealant, and it's a wrap. I think I'll try the permatex sealant. Thanks.
