HELP speedo cluster

i bought a 93 honda civic dx and the speedo didnt work so i bought a new cluster and the speedo still isnt working it has a b18a1 motor swap with the civics wiring and ecu....ecu has written on it chipped for integra ls im not sure if there should be a cable or if its all electronic or what....any help would be great.. or if you need any more information just let me know...

does the cluster work just not show your speed? if so it is probably a bad vehicle speed sensor..

ok so i took off the vss and spun the passenger tire and it spins just fine...i took the little metal thing out and put it in the VSS and it fit and spun the VSS so i think its the VSS but i cannot seem to find one at advanced or oreilly's and suggestions to buying a new one or do i have to find one in a junk yard?

That is something I am not too sure about... but what I can say is in MOST cases like you are describing it turns out to be the VSS...

good luck with finding a replacement..

maybe even just ebay or something?

ok so i replaced the cluster and vss and still nothing!! i was so upset!! so i replaced the plug that went into the top of the vss and bam it worked!!!! hope this helps someone else
