Just brainstorming wtf could be causing this problem:
Out of the exhaust pipe, blue smoke for ten seconds, which is then overrun by thick white smoke that comes out in plumes that fill the street and does not stop although it thins after a mile or two.
I replaced the valve stem seals, ground the valves and seats, and replaced the head gasket (a second time- the first head gasket was faulty) last week. Before doing that work, there was low compression in the third cylinder and just a bit of white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe that would stop after one minute. Now after doing that work, compression is fine, but there are huge smoke plumes that don't stop.
Notes- Compression is normal. The timing belt is new and timed properly. Antifreeze level is fine. Oil and filter are new. Head does not appear cracked from the outside.
The smoke actually increased after replacing the head gasket and fixing the valves and seats!
Any thoughts? All I can think of is a warped head. Also, the O2 sensors do need replacing. Thank you.
