Yesterday when i started up my car my speedometer zoomed up to about 40, i revved the engine and it went back to normal. Then today when i was driving home, randomly out of now where my left turn signal was going crazy , it kept flashing on and off but it was struggling. I didnt even turn the left blinker on. The speedo was at zero when i was moving also, but only for about 5 seconds then it functioned normal again. Any ideas to what could be causing this problem? Im thinking it could possibly be the alternator but i would like to hear what you guys have to say. Btw so far that i know of my car is in good running condition except for this weird problem

I'm not sure how helpful this is going to be but my friend has an accord and had the speedometer thing where it wasn't working properly and when he was on the freeway he would have to smack his dash and it would work perfect. I dont know how he got it fixed but I think he said it was alike 500 bucks.

Check the bulb to see if it's blown.

I had the same problem... Just take apart the dashboard and clean all the electric lines with sandpaper and liquid spirit, if necessary change some bulbs and clean the arrows base and then put everithing together and enjoy. This Kind of work resolved that kind of problem on my civic.

Sounds like you have some wires pinched or melted togetger somewhere. I take it your radio is aftermarket. If it is then your speakers cutting out except for your sub is an indication that one or more of the speaker wires is grounded out do to pinching of the wire or if you replaced your speakers one of the terminals is touching where it is mounted. Aftermarket radios do this as a protection feature to keep from frying the radio amp. Since you have other electrical issues in the dash as well leads me to beleive that a wire possibly shorted without blowing a fuse causing it to heat up and melt inside a harness which will melt other wires insulation causing multiple wires to short together resulting in all the issues. Or a harness somehow got pinched causing the same problem. I would start with pulling the radio and examining the harness and follow it back as far as possible to see if anything is melted. There are so many possibilities it is hard to troubleshoot without actually being there. There could be grounding problems in the dash or car in general as well that could cause problems like that. Check all the fuses inside and under the hood with a meter and check all grounds from the battery to chassis. Hope that helps to give you a start on getting it figured out.

The speaker problem was resolved. I noticed when i was turning into my driveway if i had the rpms at a certain point the blinker would power on and stay on. I took an alternator test today and i passed it
