Help with Accord Intake

I have a 97 honda accord ex V-TEC. I am trying to install an AEM short ram intake, and there is a "box" behind the battery that looks like it has some vacuum lines, maybe some electrical coming out of it. AND my intake won't fit without removing that box, however, it looks like that box is necessary for my car to run...any suggestions? It'd be nice to have an engine diagram to see what the hell that thing is. Please help. Thx.

Lani ;)

No, it's a box BEHIND that thing, in front of the ABS Switch. It's between them. It's got some vacuum lines coming out of it and electrical wiring into and out of it.

go to the hardware store and buy a plug.
put the plug inside the unused hole, and you are fine...

It's some sort of filter or something...it says "Filtech, Inc" in the middle and then on the bottom, it says HONDA>PP~T< AR4. There are no holes to plug, there's 3 or 4 vacuum lines that come out if it, and I have no idea what the electrical cylinoid does...but it's all connected to the small box.

unplug the electrical. The vaccum lines do not come out of it, they are simply routed around it. Did you look at that thread on accordtuner i posted in my earlier reply, that should answer all your questions.

Do you know what that sensor controls? I don't want to F up anything or Ima be screwed. How do I get the actual BOX out of the car? I don't even see anywhere that there are screws or bolts, or...anything.

i have no idea what that sensor does.

That box is held onto the rest of the intake via a hose clamp type screw ... once you remove the top piece you can unscrew the box then take the rest of the intake off

then that box is held in there i forget how.

If i still had my car i could take more pictures and s**t

you will really have better luck with these questions on accordtuner.com because to my knowledge there is maybe only 4 other people on this site with 5th gen accords.
