first off im new to the site. just picked up the car wednesday night and need a little help

car is a 98 ex converted to 00 si

b16a
cp 9.5:1 pistons
eagle rods
BC springs and retainers
skunk2 gen1 intake mani

im sure theres alot more that done. motor was originally built for boost. my preference is running an N/A setup. right now the car is running like a dog, doesnt feel like theres any power behind her at all or even feeling like vtec is engaging. im not sure what would need to be done to solve this problem and go n/a.

please help

so the problem has been figured out after 4 days. took the car to my buddies shop (poorboy racing) here in south jersey. had him check everything over. everything was straight with the swap problems that were found turned out to be a shot header, ecu wasnt an si ecu turned out to be a stock dx, and dizzy had a couple pins that didnt match up.

new b series header installed
either gonna run a p72 or p73 with a street tune
dizzy harness getting repinned

again im new here so ill be posting pictures soon of the car.

Just curious if you have a buddy with a shop why street tune it why not dyno tune it?
tuned in for pictures of your ride.

dude, you are also running low compression. thats s***ty unless your under boost. here is my build. i am at 203hp fully built with 12.1 compression. im quick all motor but it takes a bit to get up, just because its all motor. its not boost and never will be. since you are low comp, i say boost on 10lbs and cal it good and you will be quick. also your tranny is a huge factor too. thats what puts the power to the ground.

Getting an N/A 9.5:1 cr b16 tuned will still be slow. I would boost it if possible. Stock cr is 10.2:1, and they are slow too lol.

had the car fully looked over. the car is actually not 9.5:1 comp

its running 10.8 or 11 i honestly forget what he told me the other day, thanks for all the feedback guys

right now the header was redone and everything was running with a jdm p30 on hondata she pulls but not poppin. reason for the vtec not popping completely hacked harness. waiting on an ex harness to get thrown in and the p72 to come as well. my guy says tuning on a street tune will run alot better and produce a lil more power then a dyno tune plus its not as costly to run a street tune. once i get a full list of everything done ill be posting the list asap. should be getting that sometime tomorrow when i stop up there. she wants to move but cause of the sensor plugs from the harness being in every spot but where they should be leads to the problem at hand.

i feel with putting an extra 400 - 500 in on top of the 3800 i paid for the car is a damn good deal. mod list will be posted tomorrow. pictures will be coming very soon as soon as i get her home from the shop.

all in all the comp ration is higher then what it was originally thought to be. shes hitting a 180 across the boards. just needs a lil more work ie the complete harness and street tuned p72 or p73. im not sure what ecu i should run. any thoughts? the other thing is would i want to tune on crome or hondata?

thanks again for all the replies.
