Help with speakers...

I have a 95 civic EX and i want to upgrade the speakers and such. I want a really nice sound and some good bass to it. Dont get me wrong, im not some tool trying to have hella loud bass and dubstep. I just want something nice. I really dont want to spend more then $400-500. I really dont know what kind of things to look for but the radio i have is "Kenwood KDC-352U" if it matters. thanks for any help!

In one of my cars i have the same kenwood deck with polk audio dxi 690 6×9's in the rear and polk audio dxi 6500 components 6 1/2's in the front. That will run you $300-$350 on crutchfield.com

Not a big fan of Polk. Right now my favorite is clarion. Good prices and amazing sound. Jvc has some good stuff out right now too, but none of that walmart crap. For your price if you do all the install work yourself you can replace all the speakers and add a good sub. If you take it to a shop 500 will most likely get you a pretty good sub.

Im only a fan of polk when it comes to speakers. If you wanna go $500, i would personally stay away from both clarion and jvc. Bad experiences with both, especially jvc. I recommend just going and riding in different set ups and seeing what you like. Then build from there. I ended up spending $1500 on my last supposedly cheap daily driver audio build lol.

Clarion, Rockford. If you've got the cash Hertz or QLogic.

Crutchfield is the way to go. I work at an audio shop and I lose so much business due to crutchfield. They've got such good stuff.

Kick panels or door panels? The EXs have stock tweeters in the door panels. You have 6 1/2s in the fronts and 6x9s in the rear.

Not sure on the tweeter size 1 1/2 or 2" depending on if you go coax or component you might just want to disconnect the tweeters.

tweeters dont do much, do they? So pretty much get 4 speakers, and subs? like 2 of them?

This is what you need.
2 6 1/2" speakers.
2 6x9 speakers

This is optional.
Subs, are you looking for a little bump or some shake?
Tweeters, if you want to go aftermarket then get component 6 1/2s. They have tweeters with a crossover. And pretty good sound over a coax.

ok and one more question (thanks again for all your help) but on crutchfield and sonicelectronix it says the read deck speakers are 6.5 the 6x9 says it wont fit my car...

Easiest way to tell: pop your trunk and look up to the bottom of the speakers. Are they round or oval shaped?

Yea, 5th gen i believe might be 6.5 all around. Idk for sure though. If you are going with a sub too, for that small of a car, 1 decent 10 inch or 12 inch should be plenty.

6.5 in the rear for coupes n sedans. Idk about hatches. 6.5 in the front doors of all three models
