I have a 1990 civic si hatch. The head possibly came off another car and I dont know if its possibly vtec. The code stamped on is PM9-1. Im pretty sure its not the stock one. If anyone can help answer itd be apperciated. Thanks

To see if the head is from a VTEC motor, check to see if it has a VTEC solenoid. Circled in red in the picture below:

If I'm not mistaken, your engine should be a D15B1? Check the stamp on the block.

The engine is a d16a6. Im gonna look for the solenoid thanks

pm9 is not a vtec head

should be another d15 non vtec head of some kind, maybe a 88-89 d15

all d16a6 is PM3 of some sort I think
