Ok I know this is in the wrong section, so move it, I was just trying to get more people to view it. I went into my car about 30 minutes ago and stuck the key in the ignition, started to turn it and it got stuck on the II. Ok thats weird, must of done something wrong lets try it again... the key wont come out and it wont turn. I sat there for 40 minutes trying to get it out, I managed to get it to the I but it wont go anywhere else... I can wiggle it like up and down a little bit but not from locked or any of the other positions. Whats wrong with it? How can I get it out?

Sounds like you need to take off your ignition switch off the colum, if this happens, its usually a hint to get a new ignition switch (Not hard, just pugging wires together). But I believe you can spray some WD40 in there, and try to wiggle it out.

Also try White Lithium grease.

Did you try moving your steering wheel a little bit?
dunno if that would help ya, but something similar has happened to me and moving the steering wheel worked.

How do I go about doing that?

Do I have to take off the piece around the steering column? It's easy to replace?

I just called advanced auto parts and a new ignition switch is 108 dollars? Are you serious?

Shouldn't be.. my ignition switch was like 20 bucks, make sure you tell them you just need the part where the key goes into and turns.

Also, you MIGHT need to take off the plastic part, look around the ignition, there is a pin you need to press in and pull the ignition with.
