Project- 92-95 Civic Hatchback Sleeper

I'm just starting college and my parents got my apartment out of the blue so that delayed me getting the civic for about 18 months. I'm sure I could talk my dad into letting me go ahead and get the hatch even though it won't be driven much. It's going to be silver or red with a CF hood and thats all that'll stick out no wing or decals. I'm not into rice...exhaust will be a turboed back exhaust for the car. This thread will just be repeatedly updated when I choose my new items for the project then I will update you guys on here same thread yes I don't like making new threads on when I've purchased the item. And I won't post any pics of it until the ride is completedly or far enough to where I feel comfy about showing it.

Time frame- few years until completion.

Torque- 161lbs-ft@5500rmp Honda torque sucks compared to Nissan

Redline- 8200rpm

I was looking at the H22A S engine but it only had 234hp at the crank and it was $4,000 so I can handle about 20whp I can make it up. Plus ~20whp is not worth 1600 bucks IMO.

BTW- May get a B18 instead the H22A takes too much custom so the prices will even out when I drop in a Type R engine instead of the Prelude.

Whoa, okay not...YOu want a B18C5 huh. Now oyu have a apartment and school to pay for. What job do you have to support all this plus your hobby. Being 18 I presume you dont have a high paying job.

Right now rethinking the engine. Gonna talk with some GSR buds to see if they have a swap planned. I can find a good engine locally. Well college and apartment are already covered. Expenses already covered. Going today to see if I can't get a part-time job. I got 18 months to get the car along with some other items for it. Then my dad is getting involved he wants to be a part of this project too. So between me and him probably a few grand a month once I get a good job. I see why so few civic hatchbacks have gone with the H22A I started reading about the swap and its like shyt hell no. Don't have that much beer for me and my friends. I know for sure I'm getting the 5th gen hatch just don't know what swap to perform. Want a good 11 or 12 car. Right now if I turbo my QG18DE I'd hit the 13s with good tuning and some more mods. But I'm not messing with my only ride anymore I missed up something gotta get it on a lift and exam the front end.

Yeah I know I started really thinking about what I could do that'll become a reality my friends and I was talking about B18 swap, but I saw the H22 was possible but didn't look hard enough into that. Think my dad rather me get a B18 cause he knows I've dealt with more 1.8s and I know the layout better on the Integra and Civic than a Prelude.

Well I'm one of those 1% don't worry. When I go out looking for jobs today I'm looking at peoples yard for crappy civic hatchs for sale. May take me awhile, but I'm going to finish this project.

too true.......that was me when i was 18. till i realized that with school and my lack of
money(due to the fact that at 18 most kids dont have any skills),all i rode around in was my stock

first you need to know what you want, did you plan on turboing the h22 becuase you said a turbo back exhaust but never implied to being boosted besides that

i know people with real jobs and they cant pay for all that

but i guess when your only bills are car mods and beer your pretty much set... i just always see kids in college have big dreams and small wallets
