Hey all! I've been doing some research for work i need to do to my new to me 92 Civic LX and Google keeps telling me to go here, so I figured I'd register. I bought the car a few weeks ago and I can't stop fiddling with it! This is the first car I've ever owned, and she needs work, but I'm glad to finally own a car! I'm pretty sure she has a stock engine(that needs work) stock exhause(that needs replacement) and aftermarket tail and front lamps(front headlights work but there are aesthetic lights that aren't getting power)

But im not asking about that. What Id like to ask is if anyone here is from the new york area and has gone to a mechanical trade school or some such. Google isn't as helpful in telling me how good the schools in my area are, and while i've seen tons of ads for things like UTI I've never actually met anyone who's gone through that program. Have you completed some sort of mechanical certification? Tell me about it! I'm seriously considering going to school and making the investment of time and effort to become a for-real mechanic, not a google powered wrench turner.

Thanks in advance for reading my schpiel.
