If you are looking for horsepower out of it start looking into mini me swaps if your on a budget
If not on a budget then look into full motor swaps, because besides swaps or turbo your not going to make much hp on a civic.
Also since its a lx it is a non vtec and one of the less deseriable motors.
A mini me swap would be putting a vtec head from an ex motor onto the bottom block you already have it all depends on what your goals, budget etc are.

Ls/VTEC.. Yeah you'll notice if your used to driving your car then you do an Ls/VTEC or CR-VTEC..
Hey I have one of those civic lx things lol. Anyway I disagree with the whole minime thing, I suggest trying to find an LS integra swap at least, but thats just me lol. But yeah it's all about ur budget and how much your willing to do. I swapped a GSR engine in mine but that took a year of saving up and a whole lot of searching for a good deal. Just be patient
D-series.org if you plan to stay d series, but be careful they are not noob friendly by any means. Just sit back and read.
