just found this sight and just wanted to say hi. i'm 43 disabled from the army and live in maryville, tn. i have a 97 civic ex coupe with the d16y8. so far i have done header, took the cat off, replaced the muffler, cai, good tune up and little things like that. i have had this car for a year and love it. bought it for $3000 and its like new inside and out. it's an automatic and pretty quick for what it is. i dont know if anything has been done to it in the past but i find it unusual that sometimes it will bark when it shifts from a dead stop. it has 134k miles on it but runs real good. i have done a complete timing belt kit, replaced the front brakes with everything and run royal purple in it. thinking about maybe going a little bigger with the throttle body next. any way just wanted to say hi and look forward to looking through the site.

throttle body

so far with what i have done and by the way the car runs amazing. would it be worth while to upgrade the throttle body from the stock 56 (i believe is whats on it) to a 65mm or 68 or should i just leave whats on it? im not looking for a race car just some extra ponies

nah, if i was you id leave it alone, you dont have any mods that would call for you to have a bigger throttle body. with your car being auto, its just not gonna be as powerful feeling as you want. if it was a 5 speed car you would have alot more fun driving it, and feel like its got a lil more pep

Covert from auto to manual. That's what we did on my car, and it was the BEST thing I've done to my car. Even better than the turbo
