um well if you do it right it will come out the same on both, but the projectors will always be better. you could get some after market clear normal head lights and do that.

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=683685 there is a really good thread that you can read threw and learn everything and even more then you would want to know about hids

DizzyRoc88 i'm an HID specialist if you got questions please contact me via AIM/AOL my screen name is riceandweed, i will explain all in details too much to type in here so contact me if interested... just going to say this, BMW on your civic will have scatter lights no matter what even with glare shield that is hand made and/or added on. The angel eye after market projectors uses H3 or H1 bulbs for low beam, also the aftermarket projector lenses are weaker then the BMW or any other lenses. If you need any other assistances let me know.

i have 6000K McCulloch HID Kit, btw Retro fitting a projectors from other cars into yours is illegal just letting you know.

you can see my headlights it doesn't have the reflector and the HID Kit has it's specially made H4 reflectors for it, not like cheap plastic of what not covered around on some Phillips and other HID Kit comes on... i never had people high beaming me or getting pulled over, light doesn't scatter as this HID is made for H4 cars only, beam pattern is great and wide.

arent HID very ILLEGAL...
As of yet it's not illegal, but soon to be most likely complaints by on comming traffic. Retro fitting is illegal, but what Old_Skool_Civic has is okay, cuz he just replace the bulbs and projectors were bought like that aftermarket. You get a BMW projectors with the hid kit and put them on your current headlights that's consider illegal. Nevertheless i don't think HID's will go illegal, 90% of luxuary cars comes with HID Kit, most of them Phillips or Hella, and you know the car makers will not back down on it..

Yes I agree and think that HID will never become illegal since majority of the cars on the road come with HID straight from the factory and many people have upgraded to HID with HID conversion kits which are relatively cheap and are very easy to install with a plug and play installation no modifications needed...I installed mine in 20 minutes

Aftermarket kits like McCulloch are illegal now, HID's from OEM manufactures on the cars they were made for are not illegal. They have went through testing making sure that there isnt enough glare to blind ppl, yet puts out enough light. I know lots of ppl driving around with McCulloch kits and havent had any problems by the police, well at least yet. I have IS 300 HID ballasts and bulbs for my setup in stock housings and made a casper shields. I still notice I have a lot of glare. Only real way to get rid of the extra glare is retrofit projectors out of a car that came equiped with HID's. If you use say some angel eye projectors you will have alot of glare and wierd beam pattern due to the projector being made for use with halogen lights not HID's. I am looking for a set of projectors to retrofit into my setup as we speak but not looking to pay 150 bucks for them. As someone else posted the H-T thread is awesome for help.

BTW - Here is a good forum for help

All you need is a set of HID ballasts from any car and a set of HID bulbs.

Use a ring from your old headlight bulbs

Mounted to stock 92-95 headlight

Headlight harness to handle the extra power draw at start up(note: they run off less wattage after start up but will pull alot of power during the warm up process)

Bulb with homemade casper shield

Output

This is not the best way to do HID's but it is the cheap way and is as good as a McCullah kit. If you want a nice cut off HID projectors are the way to go.

IS300 ballasts & Bulbs - 260 shipped
Headlight Harness - 35 shipped
Homemade casper shield(alum pop can) - 65 cents
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
= Alot less then a kit

$295 for "home made" hid kit you can say which isn't a bad price, i bought my McCulloch for $270, 6000K plug&play no re-wiring to harness or to battery, don't need to replace the fuse or what not, clip on and plug it on done and it was $270 shipped

Home Made vs prof. made "glare" shield

and i saw that oem IS300 plug for the hid bulbs, you can see that you might have hard time pluggin it in, while McCulloch is like OEM style so it's very simple.

Yeah I have heard good stories and bad stories about those kits. But I have heard they are one of the best kits out there. I have a couple friends that run them, very bright and a nice color to them. When I looked for a kit it was about 375 shipped for the kit and hearing some stories about them made me think. So I went with OEM. You got yours for a good price. Even with those shields there is alot of glare from those kits....thats why I am going with HID projectors, reduce the glare dramaticly and as well spreads the light out better. And even if I did the McCulloch kit I still would upgrade my harness. Just to be on the safe side.
