hey there

i will soon be putting in HID's in the eg

not sure how im going to because its such a weird design....

i mean dam, the light connector thing, the spring to hold the bulb in place... wtf man haha why so complicated

any one know of a legit place to get LEGIT EG STYLE HID KITS, cus i dont see a normal h4 hid kit working, due to the connectors being both females right??? why haha..

i saw this vid and their website, its extremely expensive tho..

dont be a douche and just use a plug and play kit, go read the post john made in the exterior section about plug and play kits,

everytime i see some s**t wad with a P&P kit i have the urge to fallow them home then come back at night and cut there harnesses.

beside if you go to the site he (john) recomends you get the WHOLE HID KIT with the full HID for a VERY reasonable cost.

bottom line, dont be "that guy"

and if it helps you at all (doubt it) ill be useing the same kit as whats in his how to, in several months once i do a few other things first and ill write up a how to for the EG rather then the EK

amd as a side note youll want to use teh bi-xenon so you still have a high beam

Okay well heres whats up, you can do it the right way with a retro fit and have WAY better lights then when the car was produced
or
Run a 35-85 dollar "universal" Bi Xenon kit from say Ebay or where ever you buy it (the H4 Kit will be the ballasts, bulbs and the part that will plug into your stock plug will be 3 male "flat pins" (idk what else i would call them..) and you just put one in ground one in the low spot and one in the high spot
IF YOU DO THIS, FOR THE LOVE OF GO LEAVE THE GLARE GAURDS ON.
or
you can run a high end name brand bulb. (right now i use the Hella H4 bulbs that they carry at advanced auto parts) and these do very well for now.

Also just a though but have you considered aiming your housings differently.

If you would like to see the light output of the Hellas let me know and ill take a low beam and high beam shot for you and post it up.

Please don't put P&P HID kits in your stock halogen reflector headlights. I wrote that thread to try to get people to understand how bad P&P HID kits are with halogen reflectors. Even with a shield, the reflector cone is not doing what it's supposed to be doing to properly disperse the light from the bulb.

There are plenty of bright halogen bulbs out there. Philips Xtreme Power's are REALLY good bulbs and are like $55 from www.powerbulbs.com. They ship from the UK but they ship fast. Osram Night Breakers are also very good bulbs. They are rated +80% and +90% over stock (respectively).

+1,

I was telling him to atleast leave the glare fairest on if he wasn't going to listen to reason on the retro topic or the better bulbs. It wasn't condoning the act.

Retrofit FTW! I did a retro on my hatch a few months back. Fairly simple with amazing results.
