high coolant pressure.....

Just recently changed my thermostat about 2 weeks ago. Ran fine with no problems until today. Was driving and started to smell coolant, pulled into a gas station and smoke poured from hood. Temp guage never moved. I let it cool down and started to head home and the same problem continued except this time my temp guage began to rise. What would cause this. I was thinking thermostat stuck open or head gasket.

neither. headgasket would burn coolant and stuck open would cause it to run cold. stuck shut can cause it to over heat though, check your hoses to feel coolant flow through or put it in hot water and at 195 it should start to open. for coolant to pour out you have hose leaking. gauge not moving would be a bad ect sensor

Did you happen to see where it was coming from? I've known people who had bad radiator caps and the coolant would come out of there smoking as it hit the radiator, header, or anything else in its way.

You either have a cracked radiator or ruptured hose. Investigate, repair, top off fluid and bleed system, enjoy.
