high fuel pressure

So i was driving home one day and i stopped at a stop light and my car started running rough and the a/f gauge said it was runnin rediculously lean even when i floored it, it was all the way at lean i got home and popped the hood and checked the fuel pressure gauge and it was all the way up, so i replaced the fuel filter, oil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and played with the fpr i also put a new throttlebody on because my tps was bad and its still runnin lean and the fuel pressure is still really high any suggestions on wut it could be, maybe a bad pump or fpr cuz im stumped

if youre fuel pressure was high then you should be running rich not lean. howe many psi of fuel pressure was it showing?

what brand pump and fpr are you running?

A huge restriction somewhere would also cause a very high pressure, but lack in fuel flow. Just a thought, sometimes the pulsation dampner is a culprit, but not usually right out of the blue. Just something to think about.

i would like to know the same...

and most importantly what gauge are you going by..
what did the plugs look like when you pulled them out..

you could also be running super rich and have some how fowled the O2 sensor cause your a/f gauge to give a false reading, since im going to guess its one you have wired to the factory O2 Sensor... diaphram on the FPR might be giving you an issue

it says its running lean its just a narrow band autometer gauge, the fuel pressure is at 65-70 psi. im not sure what type of fuel pump it is but its pretty noisy so im pretty sure its aftermarket and the fpr is a b&m

how do you not know what pump it is...

if its anything like my 255 that reg cant handle that pump....

i think your lean reading is false...

isnt it possible to lock the injectors from excessive fuel pressure???

my $5 says its the injectors...

ok first off get rid of the b&m those are known to fail. put a stock one on and see what type of fuel pressure you are seeing.

how can you say that.. a B&M reg for a honda is just a modified stock reg.. its no more likely to fail than the OEM one imo.. ive had a vortech for like 4 years now.. a 255lpr pump.. the vortech is on the stock reg and the stock reg has been drilled out to accomodate that pump... no issues..

maxed out meaning it wouldnt go over 50, or you couldnt get a base pressure under 50.

my guess since the B&M unit is generally a riser only is that he can't get it below that.. it is a comon problem with his pump and reg setup.. he needs to switch to a good reg (one that will allow the return rate to be modified) generally via changeable port OR modify the return orifice on the stock (B&M reg)

after rereading that it DOES sound like hes saying it would not go higher... you shouldnt really be at 50 psi.. and that pump SHOULD be pushing fuel higher than that

are u boosted, it will go above that with positive pressure at the fpr.

teh more we go the less i realize we know..

is he saying

it wont go below 50
it wont go above 50
is this reading at 50 during driving
during WOT
with or without the vacum line attached at idle...

TOO many variables..
