high idle problems with gsr swap

i just swapped in a 01 gsr in my ek coupe this weekend. the swap went fine. right now its open headers cause the headers dont reach the cat but that'll be fixed tomorrow. and we had to reuse the EX harness from my car cuz the harness from the gsr was modified a lot so i think we have a couple sensors on the harness not used.

ok heres the big problem. im idling at just below 2k, warmed up and everything. when i start moving, lets say im stopped and i put it in 1st and drive off slowly, the rpm goes below the idle rpms. so when im driving off, its fine. its normal. but every idle, im just around 2k rpms.

can you guys help me out?

check ur IAC system... maybe fukked up...cheapest way man... go to a mechanic and put it under a machine, cuz there are like 5 possible reasons that could be happening, and it's quicker than finding all them out.

your engine is probably compensating for not having any backpressure by idling high ... put the exhaust on and it might be fixed.

first off, are you thowing any codes? thats the #1 way to figure out whats going on. 2nd, Chango_racing is right, check your IAC(idle air control). it may be broken and/or wired wrong. that could be causing a high idle. open header shouldnt cause high idle(as far as i know). but like Melt said, get the exhaust fixed, then see how it goes.

check the throttle adjustment screw on ur throttle body...u MIGHT need to play with that and check throttle lines.

I agree with Melt... get the exhaust first... if still no luck, check the IAC, TPS, and MAP sensors... since your using the EX harness... you did say your using the EX harness... that might be another reason...
