high idle surge

i recently replaced my intake manifold gasket, throttle body gasket and bought a brand new IACV installed. When i started my car my car held idle at about 2500RPM and if the throttle plate was opened the idle would then surge between 1500 and 2500RPM. very annoying, i checked all the vacuum ports and no leak what so ever after spraying around the gaskets with ether, idle never bogged or slowed down. Im throwing an IACV failure p0505 idle air control system malfunction. Im flabbergasted and annoyed by this issue. anyone know anything about this please send me a PM ASAP! thanks!

even though its new its possible to get faulty parts
you could try cleaning it since it dosent cost anything

have you messed with the tps at all
is it set to oem spec
is it installed correctly in the whole and how new is it

My Tps sensor is like riveted on my throttle body, no screw or bolt holding it on and it looks real old. Anyone know of that's serviceable? I'm gona quadruple check everything and take it to my buddy that knows a lot about hondas later today so hopefully we can figure it out.. Thanks for the replies, anymore ideas please let me know!I'll keep it updated.

you can get the TPS off with a dremel and a small cutoff wheel if thats the problem. They're not actually rivets, just slice a line through and screw it out with a flat head. They sell aftermarket tps with screws, clubcivic actually sells some in our site store.

I'm done with this d series bullshit. It's such a low powered engine n/a. I'm just gona sell it and swap my car like everyone else. Anyone want a used d series engine that's perfectly fine that just might need a throttle body just message me.

for just a tbody fix thats a big jump to go into a swap
any decent swap will run you about what a turbo d will run you so for the same money you could fix and turbo the d
