Hey guys,

This is what I want: I want build my boosted motor for autocross. I've got an '00 Si and want to stick with the B16a2 thats in it. We're going to keep the greddy 18G turbo, but I want the engine fully built and I'd like to have it revving up to 9000RPM making power the whole time. So how do I do this without risking my engine build? I was thinking Skunk2 for the entire top end, bottom end is open for anything but we're going to use Golden Eagle Sleeves because the cool better than Darton.

Does anyone know of a thread were this has been done with a list of parts?

Thanks

if you are definately gonna sleeve it i would go with benson sleeves, personal preference i guess, which is a complete open deck block. bottom end eagles might work but if you want top notch stuff get a set of manley or pauter rods with wiseco pistons. and for the top end supertech springs retainers with stock valves are fine.

why not build an ls or gsr block though? will have a much stronger powerband for autocross.

I want to build this into a road race car, not parking lot autocross car

The car was getting wiseco pistons and eagle crank and rods.

Has this been done anywhere(9000RPM boosted B16)?

the 18g wont make power at 9000rpms... thats way past its efficiency

why an eagle crank?

tons of people spin the b16s to 9k, i spin my gsr to 9k boosted. because i make power that high. if your turbo setup doesnt make power up to 9k its kinda pointless to spin that high.

no one mentioned the crank

it would probably be better to have a lower powerband, when it come to roadrace/autocross. because you will have some low speed s**t to, and you won't want to wait till 4500rpm to spool up

ur gonna need a bigger turbo to make power to 9k rpm.. alot bigger than a 18g your gonna need a dual ball bearing turbo id say a gt28 with the 82ar so it will flow up top .. still have decent spool for a b16.. 4000rpm will prob be full boost.. on a road coarse you need a turbo with good transient power. transient= "looses less speed during shifts" less lag have fun search some more and find what exact turbo fits ur needs call a garret rep they should be able to steer you in the perfect direction

I guess I need to look into a new turbo set up then, we wanted to stay with the 18G because it spools so quickly, but because the car is a 5spd I want the extra top end too.

I need to look into this more
