This sounds like a bad idea across the board.

the RCA jacks on your home stereo are 8 ohm and probably full power...whatever that may be. the RCA jacks on your car stereo are 4 ohms and a tiny watt rating.
So you're pushing whatever your home stereo output is into your amp X 2

You can try to use the line outs on the car amp but remember, your home stereo is 8 ohm

not a good idea, you will cook your receiver b/c of the impedence (Ohm) differnce... jsut like beezle said only you arent really putting 2X the power, its more the extra voltage and heat....

if you have a non-powered signal out you can get away with it. You DO NOT want to put a powered signal into your amp, it won't last long.

listen to the name.... CAR Stereo. Now I did have my sub hooked up to my mini system in my room at one time but the mini system is preamped at a peak of 160w, Sub kicked nicely really but if I maxed out the sound level it would shut down
