So my civic just started smelling like gas after i did a swap, i had a stick d16y7 and i went to d16y8 motor with a skunk2 throttle body and skunk 2 intake manifold, it only starts to smell like bad when i have the windows down and i stop accelerating, so lets say im on the freeway and i down shift, it will start to smell very very bad if i cruise it on gear like 4 thousand rpm without giving it gas, but then when i start to accelerate or give it gas, the smell will go away, please help me, im tired of that smell and when i have the windows up, i cant really smell it, only when the windows are down

You might have a leak. Start checking your fuel lines. Leave a pece of cardboard on it and run it and see if you can notice any leaking. Also check your fuel filter fittings, and see if they're tight and leaking. Maybe check the fuel rail as well. You could also be misfiring or off timing and the possibility of running too rich. Is your gas mileage poor?

Hey guys I have the same problem as Beto1995 also with poor fuel mileage I'm lucky if I get 250/MI a tank. I have a 96 civic that I did a complete swap and replaced the y8 with the z6. Runs fine otherwise. Thanks in advance

Could it be the charchol canister. Sorry if they don't have one but I'm pretty sure all cars do but just a thought

Last time I had a issue with a gas smell and low milage I had one of my fuel injector O rings damaged. Just be careful gas isn't pooling anywhere that might cause it to ignite.
