well im looking into different engine management and i came across a deal on a hondata s200 $250.
i was wondering what i all need to get this on my car and running. its a 99 Si turbo by the way

so this is what i believe i need so far:

1.Hondata unit

2.0b2 to 0b1 conversion harness

3.ob1 ecu

4. install and tune

if im missing anything at all please let me know. i heard that u have to "socket" your ecu and burn chips but im not exactly sure that that means. if those are steps i should inclue up there please let me know. and if you have any idea about how much this would cost and could let me know that would be great as well thanks

Why hondata? You might as well just run uberdata. I have it and i wouldent run any other fuel managment. That 250 your spending on Hondata could go into a burner, extra chips, and a socketed ecu. Ask handlebars for help. Hes burned multiple chips for multiple people.

hondata is mostly selling the software, that 250 bucks is just for the hondata unit, which is useless without the hondata software and a hondata tuner- it is NOT user programmable unless you buy the high end system, which is like 1000 bucks worth the software. as hatch stated, uberdata is user programmable, and quite cheap. if you cant tune or dont want to, you can find a tuner for uberdata or other program like it- crome, turboedit, etc to do it for you. but dont expect a shop to do it for you, most shops are bound by the eula not to tune these free programs- however the shop tuner will probably do it for you on his own time if you ask.

If I were to go with uberdata it says it only works with OBD1 ECU's, what type of ECU would I need for a '00 DX?

you can use any obd1 ecu. you need to run an obd2b-obd1 harness, and then any socketed ecu. i would suggest a p06 because they are cheap and available.

Any obd1 ecu can be a "template" for any ecu. Once socketed, you basically have the freedom of chipping that ecu any which way.
