Hood release cable length? 1997 (96-98) Civic Coupe

Im just wondering what the length of the cable is for the hood release in 96-00 Civic Coupes.

I wanted to use a locking hood release for my car, but I need to know how long the cable is it will be replacing.

I need to know whether to get the 7ft one or the 5ft one before i remove my stock hood release. Please help.

Thanks for the reply. I wasnt quite sure. I would assume it would be close to 7 feet too simply because it has to run through the firewall and half way around the entire engine bay. I guess I will just pick up both and sell the one I dont need.

Does anyone know for sure? Anyone have any experience replacing their hood release with a locking one? Thanks everyone.

I picked up two with a key. A 5ft one and a 7ft one.

I was thinking about the eletric one, but what if your battery dies? You cant get to it then.

Hmm maybe I havent seen those. Ive just seen people who used a silenoid to pop it, like a trunk release.

I'll post pics when I get my locking hood release installed. I will be giving it a shot sometime this week while im on vacation.
